Pax Dei (Early Access)
Pax Dei is a Social Sandbox MMO inspired by the myths and legends of the medieval era. Since the game is based on social interaction and collaboration between thousands of players sharing the game world, costume plays a role in self-expression and role-play in the digital realm.
Pax Dei aims to provide the players with extensive customisation to develop their own world within a pre-defined context, with pre-defined tools. One of these tools is Costume and costume manufacturing methods that imitate the historical real-world production of wearable items.
In Pax Dei’s entirely player-driven economy, everything in the game is created in handcrafted player-driven processes: clothes, walls, food, weapons, and armor. Considering this, everything has a value that correlates with the time and effort contributed towards any produced item.
In Pax Dei, clothing’s value is communicated by the fit to the character/avatar’s body, quality and quantity of the fabric, the number of clothing layers, access to materials and skill level.
The clothes respond to the environmental conditions and events of the gameplay and wear out over time, which affects both their visuality and functionality. This furthermore plays part in the role-playing aspect of the game.
